Time of year when we get a few bigger trees on sale (50% off at A Girl and Her Garden again). This year Cori picked out 2 mountain ash, about 7 feet tall and 2 blue spruce, maybe 3 feet.
All of them went into the labyrinth field today, lots of water and transplant stimulant. It’s a dry spell but warm.
Then…
We took on a nasty patch of Russian thistle which had gone too long and was seeding. These are along the west edge of the labyrinth field next to the shelter belt.
We yanked out 7 hefty bags of evil thistle. Hope the seeds don’t spread too far.
In there we found a green ash and a white spruce that were obscured.
A productive day on ursa.
