The front rock garden has a good amount of Opuntia we “imported” from near Lake Diefenbaker and ones we had found near the previous house in Mortlach.
Cori also gave me two potted ones this spring and both have burst with large yellow flowers.
We also have a good collection of Escobaria vivipara or Ball cactus which features stunning pink flowers. This photo shows them growing in an old cast iron teapot I brought from Arizona.
I love having cacti here! I’m plotting how to spread them around even more.
I blogged about the connection to the prickly pear cacti I grew in Arizona.
