Ignore the Lynn Anderson song reference… or don’t.
The resurgence of this front area adjacent to the town of pines is stunning. The poplar trees have surged 4 to 8 feet in 4,years, enabled by not mowing all the grass.
In this area is a notable standout standard oak tree, 30-40 feet tall. And we’ve seen the stems of rose thinking they were wild, but this is the first year they burst out full in yellow.
There’s maybe 6 of them now well above the grass. A large round bush about 8 feet high showed itself in blossoms to be lilac.
Next to it is a pink flowering honeysuckle maybe 9 feet tall.
We can’t help but wonder if previous owners cultivated this as a flowering plant area. The rain this year has fueled their comeback.
